Interaction with Iranian Cinema will open new possibilities for our film industry, Pakistan cultural officials say.

Interaction with Iranian Cinema will bring about new possibilities for our film industry, Pakistan cultural officials note.

The Director General of Pakistan National Council of Arts Syed Jamal Shah recently praised Iranian Cinema for being not only advanced but relevant to Pakistan’s film counterpart.

Recently, Pakistan’s State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb alos said her government has announced various packages to support the Pakistani film industry and is “planning on inviting Iranian film makers and experts in the field to collaborate with the Pakistani film industry and help revive it.”

Aaijaz Gul, a film critic, also said that Pakistan should follow Iranian cinema as the country is quite precious for it.

Film director Majid Majidi changed the color of Iranian Cinema forever, Gul said.

This is while, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost recently expressed his desire for cooperation between the two countries in the field of fine arts.

Iran has gained global recognition for achieving what very few countries have accomplished in terms of its technical expertise, real themes and real plots in its films.

Films made in Iran promote originality with unique aspects of cinematography and film directing style so that viewers feel connected with the story instead of objectifying and commercializing certain elements of the society.
